Winter Solstice has passed, and with another rotation of the earth, we are headed toward light again.  We celebrated last night with a bonfire: flames reaching up into the drizzling sky, sparks dancing in the air among hemlocks and spruce.  We each lit candles with an intention for the new year of growing light, and as I struck the match and brought flame to wick, I took a breath and thought balance.

 

May I balance all the parts of my life and move with clarity through each day

May I take a deeper breath with each moment of light that returns

May I live from the center of my being, where energy grows out of stillness
