Yes, I believe it does come from that book. My mom has had it on her bookshelf for many years, and I’ve carried this poem around with me for the last 10 years, tacking it up on a wall everywhere I’ve lived or worked. I’ve been loving Daniel Ladinsky’s “A Year with Hafiz: daily contemplations” lately, too. A poem for each day~ how wonderful!

“The Gift,” Daniel Ladinsky’s interpretation of Hafiz’s writings (and where this comes from as I recall), is one of my favorite books of all time.
